Extrusion Technician

Position Summary

WilMarc is a rapidly growing medical device company that is seeking a highly motivated Extrusion Technician to work in a fast-paced environment that fosters teamwork, project development activities, and associated manufacturing processes and will participate in continuous improvement and support activities of existing products. This individual will set up machines, monitor and adjust extrusion parameters to maintain high-quality standards.  The Extrusion Technician will be able to communicate effectively at all levels within the Manufacturing/Production area as well as cross-functionally with departments such as R&D and Quality.

• Operational: Setup, Operation, Tear Down, Changeover, and Cleaning of molds.
• Meet quality standards and specifications for production and R& D.
• Material Handling: Material selection, mix colorant, tracking, and staging for use.
• Monitoring production schedule for order changes and mold changes.
• Verify process parameters of all molds currently in production
• Check finished goods to verify the product is on target.
• Attention to detail to carefully record and measure processes; critical thinking to determine why processes or equipment do not work correctly; good observation to evaluate processes and procedures
• Understand materials and cycles, to know why different materials require different cycles.
• Support Production documentation

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Plastic extrusion: 1 year (Preferred)

Position Requirements

• Ability to work under minimum supervision in a ISO 13485 facility
• Ability to walk and/or stand for an entire 8- hour shift
• Able to lift 50 pounds without assistance
• Must be able to operate a forklift (preferred)
• Personal protective equipment must be worn when handling objects located in the plant (devices, materials, etc.) in keeping with the operating instructions and safety data sheets

Compensation

This position has an initial pay range of $24.00 – $29.00/hr.
